Day 1 

Welcome to Japan! Upon arrival at Tokyo’s airport, you’ll be met by an English-speaking guide and transferred by private coach to your hotel.
Check-in is available from 3:00 PM. The remainder of the day is free for you to relax or explore at your own pace.
Overnight: Tokyo

Day 2 

After breakfast, set out with your guide to explore Tokyo’s iconic neighborhoods. Visit Meiji Shrine, a tranquil Shinto sanctuary surrounded by forest in the heart of the city.

Continue to Harajuku, known for its vibrant youth culture and trendy Takeshita Street, then stroll along Omotesando, Tokyo’s elegant, tree-lined avenue often compared to the Champs-Élysées.

Later, explore Shibuya and Shinjuku, two of Tokyo’s most dynamic districts. The evening concludes with a special welcome dinner cruise, offering beautiful views of the city skyline.

Day 3

Begin the day at the lively Tsukiji Outer Market, followed by a visit to Asakusa and the historic Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple. Enjoy time exploring Nakamise Street, lined with traditional shops and snacks.

Later, take part in a hands-on sushi making experience, where you’ll learn traditional techniques and enjoy your creations for lunch.

Day 5 

This morning, travel by Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto. Upon arrival, visit the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine, renowned for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates winding up the mountainside.

Check in at your Kyoto hotel and enjoy some time at leisure.
In the evening, indulge in a traditional kaiseki dinner, accompanied by a maiko (apprentice geisha) performance.

1. What’s included in the package price?

The package includes roundtrip airfare from Barbados, accommodation, airport , city and tour transfers, daily breakfast and other meals as per itinerary, and guided tours and cultural experiences throughout Japan. 

2. Is this package available year-round?

This escorted experience is available for October 2026. However Japan is a year-round destination, and we can also arrange a similar itinerary or a fully customised trip for travel at any other time of year.

3. Are payment plans available?

Yes! We offer payment plans. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your space, with scheduled payments leading up to final payment before departure. Please view price tab.

Payments can be made at a Going Places Travel Office, via our payment link or via bank transfer. Please ensure payments are made on time to secure your booking.

4. Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, travel insurance is highly recommended.

5. Do I need a visa for Japan?

Visa requirements vary by nationality. Many Caribbean passport holders do not require a visa for short stays in Japan. Your Travel Advisor will confirm all entry requirements and assist you with the necessary information well in advance of departure.

6. What are the travel arrangements for persons outside of Barbados?

Travellers joining from outside of Barbados are welcome. Simply contact us, and one of our Travel Advisors will assist with adding connecting flights to Barbados and arranging pre- or post-tour accommodation, if required.
