Bath

Also on the east coast, lies one of the coolest beaches in Barbados, Bath beach. Unlike the other beaches on the East Coast that usually have strong Atlantic currents, Bath beach is safe and ready to be explored. An offshore reef which slows down those ferocious waves makes the sea safe to bathe in, hence the name “Bath Beach”.

The casuarina trees, breezy atmosphere, picnic benches and calming waters make this beach the ideal picnic spot. Locals usually travel to this particular beach during weekends and holidays so if you’re looking for a quieter or more relaxing experience, a week day visit would be more suitable. You can also explore the remains of old train tracks and a water fall which bath is well known for.

Once in Barbados, be sure to stop by Bath Beach and experience the unforgettable!

Bathsheba

Take a drive down to the eastern side in the parish of St. Joseph, and visit one of the most beautiful but rockiest beaches in Barbados. Bathsheba is known for its unique landscape which is naturally decorated with big boulders, making the beach much more outstanding than any other on the island. These large coral reef stones were formed by waves continuously crashing against them, turning them into unusual formations. These compositions are also said to be as old as thirty (30) to fifty (50) million years old!

Bathsheba is also well known by both local, regional and international surfers who gather there annually to take part in Barbados’ Soup Bowl surfers competition. It is often referred to as one of the best surfing locations due to the aggressive Atlantic waves that are always present there. Although these strong undertows and rapid currents are not preferred by all visitors, Bathsheba is also equipped with small shallow pools at low tide for those who wish to sit back, relax and soak up the sun.

The Bathsheba village is also the ideal place to receive freshly cooked fish along with other Bajan delicacies. This Barbadian village is home to many churches, guest houses, restaurants and rum shops which enhance the cultural landscape of this St. Joseph village.

Come visit Bathsheba, you will be glad you did!
