Travelling to New York City for just a few days? If you’re planning a short and sweet trip in the city that never sleeps, here are some suggested activities to help you get the most out of your trip, in a limited time frame.

DAY 1

A.M.

Early Morning

Are you an early riser? If so, catch the taping of the NBC Today Show at the Rockefeller Plaza. It’s free but remember to go early to secure a good spot. You might even appear on TV, in shots of the audience.

Breakfast

While in the area try the superb Bouchon Bakery, well-known for its exquisite pastries and mouthwatering breads.

Sightseeing

Take the Rockefeller Centre Tour then head up to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck for a great daytime view. Then take the Metro and visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

P.M

Lunch

ABC Kitchen is recommended as a high-end option for foodies. Have a go at the crab toast and for dessert, indulge in the famous salted caramel sundae.

Sightseeing

After lunch, take the subway over to the High Line for a bit of nature in the middle of the city.

Winter Wonderland

If you're visiting NYC during the holiday season, the Rockefeller Centre is the best place to admire the amazing Christmas lights. The sounds, the atmosphere, the sights just have to be experienced by everyone. Then, lace up your ice skates and head out onto the Rink at Rockefeller, which is constructed every year in time for the holiday season underneath the Rockefeller building.

Dinner

Definitely have a meal at Marcus Samuelson’s restaurant, Red Rooster in Harlem. We recommend the Fried Bird Royale!

Late night

Admire the lights from an incredible vantage point from the Empire State Building – open till 2 A.M.

DAY 2

A.M.

Breakfast

Treat yourself to a sumptuous breakfast at Russ and Daughters. The open kitchen experience and the delectable cuisine is worth the cost.

Sightseeing

Take the subway to see Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn Heights. Other major sites include the Charging Bull and the Fearless Girl. You can also immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of the financial district Wall Street.

P.M.

Lunch

Close-by you will find Chelsea Market, where you’ll experience the variety of a myriad of stalls. While there, indulge in delicious Mexican tacos at Los Tacos.

Retail Therapy

Shop at Westfield World Trade Centre to find all of the major brands in one place.

Sightseeing

No trip to New York City would be complete without a stroll through Central Park!

Dinner

Hop onto the subway to try Miss Lily’s for the best Jamaican food in the city.

Late Night

Finish off the night with a classic Broadway or off-Broadway show. Then, tick ‘best trip to NYC ever’ off your bucket list!

Bonus: Frequent Traveller Tip

Use the Citymapper app to find your way around Manhattan. It’ll help with taking the subway and will even tell you how many footsteps you have to take to get from sight to sight!
